Michel Poirier  abstract paintings are meant to be imprints of this changing world, when it is half-wave, half-matter.

In his practice, Michel Poirier mainly emphasises on process and materials, splattering and pouring paint in an expressive and spontaneous manner. The emotional intensity and energetic brushstrokes in his work disrupt traditional painting techniques to redefine its meaning.

“At the beginning of the painting process, I tend to question where I will lay the first  stroke or drip of paint on the canvas, but soon after,  this rational approach disappears completely to give way to a very fluid and spontaneous painting motion. For me, painting is challenging the irrational in order to bring something new into the world.”
