Born in Montreal in 1960, Charles Richard has, from an early age, been fascinated with the unique character of the human being and the creative effect that his contact with people triggered in him. Craving knowledge, Charles also takes specific interest in design and architecture, which will later influence his work.

It is only in 1995 after enrolling in a charcoal sketching class at the Saidye Bronfman Centre, that he will discover the creative passion that lay within him for so many years. From this moment onward Charles abstract painting style developed rapidly whilst painting frantically. His style is explosive, his colors are vibrant, and his calligraphic brushstrokes very mastered.

Charles Richard lives and works in Montreal.
